Gas Shack sizing & usage guide — quick help choosing the right bottle or cylinder for home, caravan, patio and camping use. All sizes below are available for local delivery or click & collect from our Padstow depot. Call 01841 532390 if you’re unsure.
Refill / exchange = you return an empty compatible bottle and pay for the gas. New bottle = first bottle (usually includes a refundable deposit). Always check the valve and regulator match your appliance.
Propane
Outdoor and bulk LPG. Propane works better than butane in cold weather and is the usual choice for heating, larger BBQs, boats and farms.

Butane
Often used for indoor portable heaters and caravan cooking (check your appliance). Butane can struggle in very cold outdoor conditions compared with propane.

- Only use bottles and regulators compatible with your appliance — if in doubt, ask before lighting.
- Store upright, outdoors or as your appliance instructions require; never store spare LPG indoors in living spaces.
