Caravan LPG Safety — What every Caravan owner should know
Store Upright & Outside
Always keep gas cylinders upright and in a well-ventilated gas locker — never inside the caravan itself.
Turn Off at the Cylinder
Always turn the cylinder valve off when the caravan is unattended or you're travelling.
Check Connections Regularly
Inspect hoses and connections for cracks or wear. Replace rubber hoses every 5 years.
Use the Right Regulator
Propane and butane require different regulators. Mixing them is dangerous — ask our team if you're unsure.
Install a Carbon Monoxide Alarm
Fit a CO alarm in your caravan and test it regularly. It's a legal requirement in Scotland and strongly advised everywhere.
Keep Away from Ignition Sources
Never store or refill cylinders near open flames, barbecues or heat sources.
