Legal requirement

Under the Gas (Amendment) Act, it is illegal to sell LPG gas cylinders to any person under the age of 18. Gas Shack strictly complies with this requirement and has a zero-tolerance approach to supplying gas to underage customers.

Online orders

By placing an order on our website you confirm that you are aged 18 or over. Our checkout process includes an age confirmation step which must be completed before an order can be placed. Providing false information about your age to obtain gas cylinders is a criminal offence.

On delivery

Our delivery team are instructed to refuse delivery to any person they reasonably believe to be under 18. If delivery is refused on age grounds your order will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. There is no right of appeal against a delivery refusal made on age grounds.

Collection from our depot

Any person collecting a gas cylinder order from our Padstow depot may be asked to confirm their age. We reserve the right to refuse collection to anyone we believe to be under 18. Proof of age may be requested at our discretion.

Reporting underage sales

If you believe that gas cylinders have been sold or supplied to someone under 18, please report it to us at info@gasshack.uk or contact Trading Standards through the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133.
