Hobbybrew 60/40 Mixed Beverage Gas Cylinder
Hobbybrew 60/40 is a professional food-grade beverage gas containing 60% carbon dioxide and 40% nitrogen. This balanced mixture provides controlled carbonation, a medium bubble size and a lively but smooth dispense.
It is especially well suited to craft lagers, pale ales, amber beers, session ales and ciders. The combination of carbon dioxide and nitrogen creates a balanced mouthfeel without the sharper carbonation associated with pure CO₂ or the pronounced creamy effect produced by a nitrogen-rich 30/70 mixture.
Hobbybrew’s rent-free cylinder scheme is ideal for home bars, microbreweries, mobile bars, cafés, clubs and smaller hospitality businesses. Customers normally pay a one-off refundable cylinder deposit and then purchase replacement gas fills as required, subject to the supplying agent’s terms.

Safety information
This cylinder contains compressed gas at high pressure. Keep it upright and securely restrained during storage and use. Operate it only in a well-ventilated location and protect it from excessive heat, impact and unauthorised interference.
Carbon dioxide and nitrogen can displace oxygen, creating an asphyxiation hazard in confined or poorly ventilated spaces. Never modify the cylinder valve, use damaged equipment or attempt to refill the cylinder yourself. Always follow the regulator manufacturer’s instructions and Hobbybrew’s current safety guidance.
Cylinder deposits, refill prices and availability vary between authorised Hobbybrew agents. Cylinder shoulder colours may also vary as stock is brought into line with current identification standards; this does not change the gas mixture inside.
